I got lucky on my first two lumber loads. Lucky is slightly sarcastic. 1st load 117 miles $610. 2nd load 167 miles $800. Almost a round trip with about 120 deadhead miles from when I left the house to When I got back home.
I see a lot of 1-1.30 a mile lumber loads around here. Then add east coast tolls. If I happen to pull one of these loads I will feel like mother Theresa. -
I hope the euphoria is still going a year from now.
I'll sell my truck for twice what I owe and go back to switching trailers for $18/hr until they all go bankrupt.
It's like penny stocks.
When it's going up, and everyone wants to buy, that's about the time you wanna sell.
Luckily I live very cheaply and can afford to keep making truck payments.
I bet a lot of these guys are spending their money on fancy toys and stuff instead of saving for a rainy day.
What are they gonna do when suddenly they're running for $1.65 a loaded mile away when they been getting $2.15?
I remember first 4 months of last year I was avg $1.65/loaded mile. And working hard.
I think the easing of the personal conveyance rules opened up capacity a bit. I been hearing stories about people getting ticketed for improper use of PC. So I'm sure people are using and abusing it to skirt the elog and HOS.
And companies out there telling their drivers to improperly use PC. I think that was a mistake and HOS needs to be enforced even further with stiffer penalties. People shooting themselves in the foot. Race to the bottom.loudtom, JonJon78 and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
Or like the green rush in Colorado years back. Bet things are much tougher after everyone rushed there after seeing the media glorify the riches.BoyWander Thanks this. -

And you'll have more opportunities to book your loads, but when you put your bid on those loads, stay high on your rates, like $3 or $4 per mile and you'll get a chance to win high payable loads.Lepton1, 20 Mule Team, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -
Has anyone with a flatbed booked a load on convoy. I can never find a load for a flat anywhere on there app.
