I think you might have overdone the "TSSS"...

...but that's just my most humble opinion...

So I got it done... Only took me 6 pull ups. I wasnt quite perfectly jack-knifed, but #### close. Sight side trailer cushion touched dock, blind side cushion was about 3 inches away from dock.... CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME!!!!!

Edit: oh yeah then to get out of this place I got to back down a one-way, the wrong-way until I got past the next intersection so I could turn down it.... Like I said, REALLY tight place.

I would do it again a few times before you leave, if no one was there waiting for the dock. Practice makes perfect.

I would if it was a company truck and fuel, but if my own truck and gas, aint gonna kill my tool.

Maybe. It will cost lest doing it empty than it will when loaded next time.

Well like p608 and others said, but it depends on ...is their other stuff in the way? Is it sleeper? Tandems at doors? Well I get parallel to dock about 30 feet off the dock...and aim for center of dock not the bumper closest.Yeah your trailer will be going sideways that last 10 feet,so you touch drivers side of trailer at an awful angle, pull off 10 feet wheels cranked clockwise, then cranked counterclockwise to bacck up.Youre basically moving as end of trailer sideways that last ten feet (to get it touching both bumpers on the dock...with the goal of ending up in a perfect jacknife(where tractors not blocking road.

Wasn't the 90 ally dock part of the CDL class A test? It was back in my day. Nailed it first try, and never needed it again. I've only bumped a hand full of docks in my time at this trucking thing.

I had to do that last year after starting as a greenhorn. If I can figure it out in the pitch black, and I had to do it 4 times because I had to spot trailers back there, you can figure it out.
