This is ridiculous! Spend three months OTR. I usually eat at Chinese Buffets. Now that I'm home? The place I eat the most? FlyingJ for cryin' out loud! The restaurant has constant buffets. Partly is common sense. Have to stay away from carbs/sugar. So I can choose the right food.
I also admit I like the people there better. The environment. Have eaten at a Chinese Buffet here. Also Thai food...which is great. I avoid Perkins. Getting to where I avoid places with young waitresses. They have an attitude. As if I'm there to serve them. Getting sick of it. Yes they do have some young waitresses at flyingj. But they're used to serving drivers. They know we don't bite.
Newbie.... blah blah blah....yadda yadda yadda

Don't these two just look like they'd have large quantities of marijuana? Don't they look like they use marijuana for religious rituals? Last time I saw a face like that was with the esteemed Professor Ford.

Well... I is back in Kansas.... back to summer. It’s only 54 out. That’s about the highest it got all week in da Hills.
Got me a run tomorrow over the Rockies. Gonna be fun. Try to make that a warm afternoon crossing. My momma didn’t raise no fool.
I’m intermittently loading the truck up. It’s because of rain. On and off. Heavy then light.Dave_in_AZ, Lepton1 and SingingWolf Thank this. -
Here I am. Sitting about 300 yards short of the Eisenhower tunnel. They closed I70. A wreck west of the tunnel. And it’s snowing. Doh!

I got inspected in eastern Co. today. No violations. Told her: You just got me a $50 bonus. She said: No! You earned yourself $50. You have your act together. Congratulations!

Then had to scale in the mountains. Called me in. Asked last time I was inspected? I said: About four hours ago.

It wasn’t fun.
I engaged the tandem lock for both axles. Kept losing air. With high revs, couldn’t get pressure above 100. Had to use both axles to get going. So fought it. By the time we could move. A bunch of snow had fallen.
I barely got that truck going. I waited on the truck in front of me in his clear spot. Stopped there. Then got a running start. Kept going with sliding. Once I got to the tunnel. I disengaged the double axles. My air pressure returned to normal.
But I almost didn’t make it. Everyone was having bad difficulty getting moving up that mountain.
Once I got through the tunnel. They still didn’t require chains. It snowed both sides. I played it safe. Went a whole long ways down that mountain in 4th gear.
Got to my customer over four hours later than normal.
First time with an 18 wheeler in the snow. I’m thankful I have all that experience through 7 winters in The Hills, straight truck.SingingWolf, Lepton1 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
