Except for the huge power draw and weight/size.

My recommendation would be get a printer that uses toner rather than ink. Toner doesn't dry out like ink will if you don't use the printer pretty regularly. I use the scanner more than I use the printer itself and was paying for new ink about once a month

I second Hurst's opinion here. Toner based printers are nice but they demand a good spike of electric when they fire up so you might need a sine wave inverter and they are considerably more expensive. For these reasons I recommend the cheaper the better. Inkjets are disposable. Once the cartridge runs out, toss it and by another one. They take lots of abuse bouncing around in a tractor. I use the $20 printer/scanner deals so I can provide the best quality signed BOLs to Brokers as possible. One less excuse they have to late pay me.

You guys do realize that when you buy a printer it comes with basically a mini ink cartridge. Another words the ink cartridge that comes with the printer is only good for 100 pages but if you buy a cartridge it with print 500 pages. These are made up numbers but you get the picture.

have one of the 150 watt power strip inverter. Runs my printer fine. Was on sale at Wally World, ink jet type, less than $40 for it.

I used to think that were true. Experimented a little bit,.. found there was no difference in pages printed.

They came with the exact same cartridges that I replaced them with. Waste of $45.

$20 - $25 printer/scanner combo for the win. The cheaper and simpler the better.

Cops seem to use them, but leave it in the sun, or even just alone for years, and it might be gone.

I bought my first one from State patrol.
I still have it. With the mounting bracket.
It needs a power cord and download the software to. Work.
The paper i buy comes in a case of 9 rolls, 100 pages to a roll. They are convenient.

Needed paperwork copied in the port this last week. Out to truck I went. Printed out 6 copies of both pages, back inside.

I used to have to drive somewhere to get copies. Permits, easy. Receive the email, print on the spot.
