My husband and Beth, the truck dog, got in this morning for a few days. First time either have met Mighty Mouse the new rescue dog. I think it went well...

Ok...this is my truck. I've been working on getting it cleaned and shined up. Hours and hours of polishing dull/brushed aluminum fuel tanks and neglected aluminum wheels and I have them pretty bright now. We've had problems getting our trucks washed. They (the company) took our truck wash away and washing trucks has been almost an impossibility because of our proximity to a good truck washing facility. Consequently, I decided to take my filthy truck and matters in to my own hands and brought a hose and brush to work with permission from my boss (naturally) and started to get her cleaned up and shiny... I'm about 90% done. Chrome wheel covers are
on the way and another dose of aluminum brightener on that tank and maybe I'll be finally be satisfied.

Even 3 decades ago when I started, I didn't wear hats or cowboy boots, or anything else that was maybe considered trendy in its day. I dress for the weather and for comfort. Shorts and sandals if its hot weather, to insulated coveralls and sorels in a snow storm. I am not a fat smelly old man, and I do care about my hygiene. Seems odd to think that drivers should always wear big boots, a hat, or whatever it is.

Not to split hairs with you but, common work clothes and working foot wear (work boots) is not what I think of as trendy. More likely they were and still are appropriate but, shorts and sandles and 'comfort wear' to my mind, are trendy.
