    Tmc is annoying me
Is it really necessary when every pallet has its own securment.. Two on the front is what everyone does for forward movement.

I’ve never see a load of shingles get pulled in by dot for inproper securement
or a load of shingles going through a tractor

Overkill and a waste of time, what do you think ?

I just run two on the end pallets. But if they want an x also, then that is what they want.

You know there is some other company driver just waiting to see someone without an x... You can just picture them getting excited, bouncing up and down on the seat, and giggling as they call the office to start squealing on you. For some imaginary brownie points.

For what it’s worth x straps are NEVER required by the FMCSA on any load.

try 2 as an X and 1 more on the back of the first pallet, then it is only 1 extra and will keep the squeelers at bay

It isn't, For safety it is the best way. Would you like a few bundles to come a loose and fly out on the highway in front of your family who may be driving behind you? ?

I’ve hauled many a load of shingles, I just double strap the front and rear pallets singles over the others and have never had any shift or seen anybody else have shingles shift (doesn’t mean it won’t or doesn’t happen I just ain’t seen it).

I see very few TMC drivers actually put x straps on loads of shingles or anything else that their drivers have told me they’re supposed to.

It's hilarious how they want X straps yet probably half the shingle loads I've seen...TMC included.........have insecure bundles all up and down the load. Granted you'd just about have to roll the truck to get them to go anywhere but any DOT man who isn't blind could have a field day.

When I do see x straps their main 4 inch straps are flapping in the wind doing nothing..

I’m all about securment sure, that’s why I posted
I think I just don’t like being told what to do. Which is probably why I drive a truck lol

IMO x strapping shingles is about as useless as x strapping lumber. I’ve never seen a bundle let alone a load of shingles shift.
