Ernesto didn’t just wander in and steal the load on a whim.
    So,
either someone high up at Dayton freight set up the theft as that driver wouldn’t know what he was picking up.(highly unlikely)
    Or
Someone from your own warehouse set it up, (very likely)
    Or
maybe your freight is on it’s way to your customer and it just got a bit delayed for some reason (possible)

The place I loaded at this morning photographed my truck, trailer, license plates, and the load. You think maybe Ernesto had paid them a visit in the past? Depending upon what was on those pallets, your load probably went to the Rio Grande valley where it would be loaded into cars and vans for transport into old Mexico. I used to haul beans down there from Colorado. In about an hour or so 50,000 lbs of beans were on their way south.

Did you call Dayton Freight? They have a truckload brokerage service called DFT that uses outside carriers.

If the load was stolen, I'd think it would be an inside job to be able to pull that off. It would be tricky to time it right so that the thief beats the real carrier to the shipper and has the correct pick up information without a heads up from one of your employees. So is it a safe assumption that this is high-value freight?

Definitely a Palos Garza truck. Might contact them and see what they say. They are out of Laredo, guy might be going straight back but had to take his reset or something. Good luck!

Good info. It's probably just a miscommunication and they'll get it all sorted out.

That would be quite a reset as he picked the load up 23 days ago.

Hate to say it but start calling people to see if the carrier is responsible.
Non zero chance that load is gone. Especially if its a load that is easily sold.

Dayton Freight should have a paper trail on who they brokered it to. If he had a pick up # had to get from somewhere. If freight went out w/o # it’s gone.

The Xtra trailer has the trucking company name on the door as well. You might call Extra leasing to find out how many trailers they have on lease or rent, and what truck was pulling their trailer.
