Reefer doesn't work?

    And on a side note if any of you have a YouTube channel and would be so kind as to post a video regarding air tandems including the part where you have to release the tractor brakes and deal with certain safety processes that cause the truck to honk when you open the door with one of the brakes released, I'm sure that would be helpful to someone as I had to do a process of elimination seeing as I was not trained at all before I was handed one of these reefers. Yeah I found a video showing how to pull the button but nothing regarding filling those air tanks before you even try to do the tractor-release-bear-beeps ordeal.

    To slide tandem with an air system...

    Hook trailer, set tractor brakes (pull yellow button out), air up trailer (push red button in wait a few mins), set trailer brakes (pull red button out), get out and pull (sometimes its a push button) little button on slider, get in truck release tractor brakes (push yellow button in), pull forward or back up to slide tandems, set tractor brakes ( pull yellow button out), get out check tandem position, if position is correct push little button on slider (sometimes pull), get in release tractor brakes (yellow button in) rock forward and back to ensure slider pins are fully engaged, release trailer brakes (red button in), drive away.

    No need to get out with brakes released to do this process. Although id love to watch your truck thow a tantrum because you're opening door with brakes released... Sound pretty entertaining. Lol

    Yeah i would leave it on continuous run as well, those motors don't really use that much diesel so a 1/4 tank will go along way.

    If we’re talking about a frozen load, most reefers are programmed to force cycle mode (start/stop) for temps below +15

    It’s not only the fuel consumption cost that concerns fleet owners. It’s the engine hours. They have a finite life expectancy before very expensive rebuild is required. Unnecessary hours is well, unnecessary hours.

    But beyond that, typically, a carrier unit will burn a half gallon per hour. You can do the math.
