Just talked to a fellow driver this morning at our Denver terminal. We got to talking GPS's and he showed me his Garmin. It was labeled Nuvi, but looked older than my Nuvi 200W, it had the flip up antenna in the back, but the most interesting thing is, it has truck routes in one of the menu. It had a lot of features my 200 doesn't have. He said he bought it a year ago at a Walmart, anyone have any ideas what model it is?
Also, anyone try out the Goodyear model yet? It says Navteq on the box, isn't that the same maps or software that Garmin uses?
Which Garmin could this be?

Go to the garmin website. I have an extremely old model i still use. I just have to buy updated maps every 2 yrs.
-
250 and 260 have truck routes
-
Nuvi 350 has truck routing
-
-
the nuvi 660 also has truck routing and for the most part its pretty acurate.

I have the 265. Where did you find truck routes on it? (I guess I need to dig out the manual). It works incredibly well but after it tried to put me through a low clearance tunnel one time, I learned quick that the old school map book and QC directions needed to be consulted also.

Try this one on for size. GPS, directions, the DOT officer (I asked for directions), the phone call to the company to confirm address, AND the map were right.
5 minutes on the phone raising hell with dispatch, resulted in a completely new address. That didn't match the original at all. The bills were all generated in house, with a major company. Even the print out of directions AND map supplied by the shipper..was correct. If there had actually been a dock there.
Never understood why a shipper would have 43K of rollstock sent to his supervisors house....in the woods. Obviously, some clowns idea of a joke.
This happened yesterdayAnd I'm still trying to figure the DOT officer out on this one. The idiot looked at my bills. And saw the name of the company...12 miles back the other way.
