I get it! And, what I figured!

My Mom and Dad have a neighbor who lives across the street in Ocala FL who is gone for months at a time...some times 6 or 7...maybe you are him! My Dad always asks me "Why does he have to stay out so long on the road?" (My Dad is 86).

I tell him, he doesn't "have" to, he wants to!!!

Just stop. No you don’t. You’re that half brain nitwit community that thinks trucking stops without you or paper logs.

Haha We’re at opposite ends of the country sorta.

I have 2 homes. One I hit every 3 weeks more or less. The other, maybe 3 times a year.

One can be driven to on short notice. The other requires letting the pervs at TSA search me and my bags before boarding.

I should write a book about airport security. Nothing like being told you tested positive for explosives while 2 guys with full autos try their best to look scary lol

I wish i knew more about these ELDs and the law. I thought there was a mandate ALL trucks had to have them?

Nope. There are exclusions. And the #### things are difficult to understand.

We wound up going directly to the DOT for guidance for my son in-laws company. He’s exempt, but still has to provide those paper logs.

Just a side note. There are people who make well above $150k net per year, running paper logs. No arguments about it. It all has to do with how much actual seat time the job requires.

I should get versed on these things. However I am not planning to get into that much. It has been almost 6 years now since i drove a CMV, I am in a situation now where I can't even give advice on roads because they are changing. i learned that about some Texas roads several months ago. I'm just an old Fossil butt that has outlived his usefulness.

Meh, old fossils still provide wisdom. Which is a good thing. Otherwise I know a few geologist who would need a new job.

I doubt there are more than a handful within this forum who even know what a 4x4 is. And even fewer who could drive the #### thing.

I have lived on sailboats on and off for my former 50 years.

This is cake. Tons of room. And you can get out of it anytime you want unlike a sailboat 100s of miles out to sea.

I have got every thing but the shower and laundry figured out in my company truck.

But my 97 Iternational I just bought is definitely getting a shower after tonight at Pilot. Possibly a clothes washing machine also.
