Since we all like the old stuff that built this great nation, I present " The 1900 Water Motor". That impeller spins as free and smooth as a person could want, and there is no slop in it.
This came from one of my mentors' shop. At 90 years old, he's shutting it down. He said,
"I want you to have this".
I won't do anything with it, but I won't get rid of it either.
There's some other cool old stuff he wanted me to have, but this is the coolest.

    How's that used 51?

At 1st look I thought it may have been a Manifold from the old Days of Firefighting

Instead of an electric motor turning the pulley, a water source (garden hose in this case) is hooked to it. The water turns an impeller inside, which turns the pulley. I'm not sure how big of a load it could handle, I'd guess not much.

It would probably run a fan, like on a blacksmith forge.

Just enjoying the view from a job site while eating lunch.

    KIMG0118.JPG

Called them and said I'd be there at 11. Three hours notice. Get told to call them when I arrive and they'll have someone come unload me. Get here and there is no equipment with which to remove their junk from my wagon.

Call em and "Oh, you're there? Give us 30, gotta load up a skid steer".

No problem. Undo straps, and stuff my face. Easy day, easy life.

It's a nice breeze. About 55 degrees, perfect Tshirt weather.

Gotta take these moments when they pop up. Offsets the office politics and madness that transpires back at home base. Slow season is pointless drama season.

I just wanna be in the truck going places and networking with customers.
