Gotta love those prices. For the number of clients it would hold, and the prices of services those days, how in the world could any company justify it??

Ads today for floppy disks are just as funny though.

Would you believe I've serviced some of those old machines similar to the one the banker guy is using in the first ad? :biggrin_2552: Luckily they were no longer production machines, but they were still working, lol.

Computers used to be people...In the old days they had whole office buildings full of people crunching out numbers with mechanical calculators...So even a vacuum tube beast the size of a house and costing millions was amazing...

The price of that 15mb drive is ludicrous! I have a 32mb sd (twice the size of that drive) card that came from my camera. It's almost worthless to me, all I use it for is to store POI's on my GPS. Really amazing how far we have come!

Wow, I learned computers on a Commodore PET, and still own a working VIC-20 and a C-64. Anyone know where I can get a 900 baud modem for the VIC?

Hey captain canuck, Is that a victor champion computer your talking about(vic-20)? I might be able to find that 900 baud modem at the goodwill computer store. That's where I find all my older parts for those boat anchor systems that folks pass on to me.
