Just for the record that’s not a redhead, it’s an ISX. Calling it a redhead is an insult to N14’s.

    That’s a redhead, good motor.

70's-80's but being that close to a mustang, I get the same feeling as parking by a swifty!

When I worked for All we had a bunch of ISX 565’s before DPF, I thought they were decent engines. I never had and trouble with mine and it pulled decent. I’m not sure what’s available in the aftermarket to hop them up. Someone mentioned the X15’s the other day, I know several guys with the X15 performance 605 and they like them.

I liked the pre emission ISX, I actually feel that all these engines would be great without EGR, DPF. EGR is the biggest issue. Try putting a hose from your butt to your mouth and go for a jog. That's my comparrison. All the years I have worked on them and strived for performance knowing clean cool air and free flowing exhaust is the best. We now dump dirty air in after air cleaners and restrict the exhaust. I want to know the environmental impact of the production of emissions parts and servicing them. I have a feeling we are not doing the planet any better. Just research the toyota prius battery production. Its dirty and will have to be in operation some 15 or 20 years to offset emissions produced during production of just the battery and would take that long to offset emissions of a gas power car!.

Yep it’s all smoke and mirrors, that ISX started out an that Signature 600 if I remember right. All had a couple, they would pull.

I knew and worked on one brand new. The driver loved it. Owner hated it. It was at the shop every week. Cummins would come to the shop and work it. It was one of the first and we didn't have anyone cert. But after a few cam and injector changes and Cummins and IH picking there rears, one of are guys took a fitting apart and found a plugged screen with aluminum from them drilling and machining fuel tanks. Cummins claimed they didn't install screen, IH claimed they didn't either. That thing ran and ran after that. All red IH 9900. On a test drive that thing would push you back in the seat. Driver claimed it would run over 120 mph out west. I can't confirn this.
