And you have spent how many years in prison? Two years ago my brother died in prison. Somewhere along the line he went criminal. He was on an extended stretch for a crime(that was during the time of many) he did not commit. The old "wrong place, wrong time" story. Short story is he had an operation and died. 46 years old and dead. I can assure you that "if" he were around today he would tell anyone to stop any stupid nonchalant talk about doing time.
The rest of this is for any new drivers that read these posts.
There are usually two types of "jailbirds", those that will be back, and those that will not. This brings about the next statement: Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
It may sound macho or manly but prison is a dog kennel. You either have to become rabid or be bit by those that are.
Any driver that says he(or she) carries a gun every where he(or she) goes either will not haul a load to a federally protected area or "might" just get the chance to serve the time. The good news is that fed time might be better than state time. The bad news is there is no parole or early release.
Certain statements may have a grand sound, like a renegade, "outlaw", or badboy, but they can come across as statements from a 20-something year old that really doesn't have a clue. Those that are new and have not figured out how to survive, or get around, might not have the knowledge or luck to get away with certain things.
I have been driving the roads of this country and Canada over 15 years. The majority of the time was running teams so more miles were covered in a shorter time. I stopped running teams the week a new driver allowed a warrantless search. I retired from Canada because the only time my truck was ever searched was there. I have been asked if I minded if my truck was searched 3 times and told it ws going to be searched once. I HAVE NEVER AGREED and have never been searched. I do not get angry but state that I know the law and if a search is performed it will be with a warrant or be an illigal search.
If you are a driver and have nothing to hide, are not carrying illigal drugs, guns, or paraphernalia then don't be intimidated. It is a right of the police to do a Terry search((Terry V Ohio, 1968) which is a pat down for weapons and a possible search around a drivers seat for police safety concerns. It may also be performed if an officer has specific and articulable facts(Wipedia, Terry V Ohio-1968), that a person is armed. Any more than this still requires a warrant. Exceptions would be entering a secure facility with signs posted.
This is just my opinion and loosely falls under your third statement of choice or opinion.

What really amazes me is the fear/loathing/hatred that some people have for a simple piece of molded steel and/or plastic. How can these supposedly intelligent humans fail to realize a version of the old saying, "Guns don't commit crimes with people........people commit crimes with guns!" I am not going to try and guess the percentage of crimes that are committed by........CRIMINALS! (Humans that have previously committed a crime.)
Also, many of these crimes are committed shortly after an early release, and during probation.
(1) How many of these offenses would have occurred if the criminal would have had to serve time instead of probation, AND serve his FULL sentence.
(2) How many of these offenses would STILL occur if there were NO firearms on this earth?
If firearms were to be completely banned, removed from this earth, my guess is that knives, (#2 weapon of choice by....CRIMINALS) would probably be next, OH WAIT- silly me; there already is a partial ban on long blade knives. If after the firearms ban, knives would become the #1 choice of....CRIMINALS, then my guess is baseball bats would become the #2 choice, thus a partial ban on baseball bats over a certain length could be possible.
Thinking back over the years, during an argument, my first wife in a fit of anger, threw a soft furry toy (which belonged to our cat) at me. Just wondering how long before it is classified as a weapon, spurring a movement to ban cat squeaky toys.
All the while honest citizens are punished for carrying firearms in their vehicles. When did it become illegal to want to protect yourself and/or family?otr500 and Winchester Magnum Thank this. -
I didn't know you had a Gronk. Don't worry, Brother, I won't hold it against ya.

Back to the subject: droy, you hit the nail on the head, once again. Let's look at Austrailia. They have banned #### near everything that could be conceived as a weapon and, still, violent crime continues unabated. One of the differences is that, now, a man defending his family can be (and will be) charged if the criminal is injured or killed. How is this a good thing?droy Thanks this. -
Shortly after the communist nazis got elected in this country.droy Thanks this.

I do believe that's worthy of a quote, yes sir!
If I may add, LOL.....
And yes, we have some nazis here in Wis, but nowhere as bad as in Illinoiz -
You are never allowed to have a firearm in a commercial vehicle, no pemit will allow it not even if you are a police officer off duty and driving for extra money. In no way shape or form can you carry a firearm unless you are a federal marshall or military in a military vehicle.

Please post your proof of this.

Geezuz dude...... -
Can not produce proof of this statement...Due to poster being uneducated on this issue and since there is no law against this...IE there is no way to prove this "opinion" which is all that it is...opinion.

Yeah, kind of what I was thinking. Almost 70 pages of this and no-one's shown proof yet. My guess is that someone didn't take the trouble to read any of the previous posts.
