ABF wants your soul in exchange for their pay and benefits. It's a good job and all, but...yikes.

Question about the feeder job. The opening for me area said full time, seasonal, part time. Will they dictate where they want you or do you have some say in the matter?

This is generally true, but there are exceptions. In times of excessive need, the terminal may hire full-time employees off the street at any time.

Depends on the advertisement. Think when i applied it was specific for seasonal feeder. When interviewing they made mention there would be one full time spot after peak. Possibly more with contract being finalized. (Some guys were waiting on a pension bump before retiring.) only 3-4 were brought on seasonal.

I went into it knowing the situation. If it works long term great. If not ill have doubles experience to where if wanted i could slide in the ltl world later.

This is one situation. In my case at a large terminal, they brought in 15 seasonal drivers, and everyone who made it to the end was hired full-time. The only thing you had to worry about was the order in which you were hired. Seniority matters.

I treated it like the military, I answered the phone whenever they called, and I was the first one hired in my "class." The winter after we were all brought in, me and the other two top hires worked steady. Everyone else did about 1 or 2 days a week. Saved my butt.

That's exactly what they told us... one or 2 spots but they said it might not happen.

I think it just for our seasonal Drivers. I'm new to this truckers report thread but I'm digging it! Always believe in a helping hand and priceless information.
