Trucking companies faced with a ultimatum usually put me out to the curb. Then laugh about it and find another driver relatively quickly.

There are ways to say no or otherwise change the direction of the USS Management so to speak if you use the right words just so. But if someone was stupid enough (Myself included...) to throw around ultimatums, they are essentially told to GTFO the property, yer fired and that's literally the end of it. Your position no longer matters as you no longer exist to them. Problem solved. Then again problem is not solved it will continue until the next person tosses down a ultimatum over the same issue. They too will be tossed out.

We had a worker decades ago in our Tavern who had airs. Evidently he went to some high mucky a muck culinary school downtown. Unfortunately for him in particular and sadly for the school in general, this is a working Blue Collar Tavern who requires a Patty Melt Sand witch just so. This, that and bread and something else. And done. That's what the customer wants. What this worker tried to do was build a 10,000 dollar creation more suited to the high society of the ivory tower who have forgotten what a basic Patty Melt was and literally was fired for failing to adhere to the kitchen menu on the wall above the food process table where the order is assembled before sending to customer.

BTW that particular meal was sent back with a WTF is this from that customer who did not recognize it as such as a Patty Melt. And so it was the last day of work for that unfortunate worker. It's a small thing. But that food item along with all others were on the menu as so and that is how they are put together. It was more important to find a worker who knows to put the food together the way that customer who has been coming all his life (The business was in existence before world war two and is generational in Customer base.) expects the food to be on his plate at the table. His money, we are more than happy to provide that for him to earn that money. He could go anywhere else for that sandwich which would be our loss.

I hope whatever happens out there with people in this industry you carefully choose those who are of like feather. You will have less trouble this way from those who are more inclined to create trouble where it does not exist.

Not so quick, I'm missing some of the story .

So 1st trainer was a dill hole, you got off that truck (with difficulty), and on with Trainer 2. That makes sense. It also makes sense that the company gave Trainer 2 a heads up on what the other trainer's story and what they understood your story to be. Please note that I am not calling you a liar, I have a lot of experience with the difference between what someone said and what they meant and what the other person understood.

Trainer 2 was "very nice" - so why are you getting off his truck?

It is hard for people to except failure sometimes. Or to realize they are not cut out for endeavors they pick.
Over the years I have heard just about every excuse a trainee had for jumping ship.
My trainer listened to old school country music & chewed tobacco & drank warm Tab soda all day. And to boot had 2 heart attacks one only 6mos before I got on the truck. But I kept my head down and focused on the training & the job because I wanted the job & only had to hang out with him to get my own truck.
You might not like the music or the politics or the habits of your trainer. But if he/she is not endangering or abusing you physically & you can't hack it for a few weeks till you get your own ride? Then maybe you are just looking for a way out anyway from something you don't really want.

I'm trying to figure out what the company did wrong. Are you mad at them for something they did that was illegal or immoral? Or are are you upset with them because they employ people that are racist or are inclined to steal from them.

If someone's words upset you this much, its going to be a tough life, because you will always be disagreeing with everyone else. Best to just say nothing, do your job, and continue on. Or build a cabin on a mountain top in the wilderness, and live there alone forever away from all humans.
    We all have an opinion.
It's up to you how you respond to the opinion of others.
Remember that many people don't share your views on many topics as well. Hopefully most are mature enough to just continue on with their lives, and not over react and blow it all out of proportion.
But if your style is going to be to make a mountain out of every mole hill, maybe consider building that cabin i mentioned on top of one of those mountains.

I think he is generally just an angry person who blames everyone else for everything.
Going to be a tough life with his terrible attitude.

To the OP.....take a few things from a driver of color here: there will be many days where you here truckers talk about minorities. You have truckers that come from everywhere big cities and rural areas. Many are still stuck in the olden days. Many are racist due to what they heard their predecessors say growing up. Racism is taught. That said, you'll have to learn to ignore how many truckers feel on that. Racism isn't right and never will be. It's pretty stupid in my book. Once you get assigned to your own truck, stay out of truck stops for reasons other than food, fuel, or shower. Its a lot of miserable drivers out here. You will greatly avoid all of that by staying out of truck stops. As for the company, they're only concern is moving loads. Especially when drivers complain 24/7
