Same here. I’m a creature of habit. I’d just as soon have a strong pot of Folgers as anything from a fancy coffee house.

I love my wife. She is absolutely the gal for me, no doubt. We’re both money misers cuz we both grew up poor. She’s actually worse than I am about it.

That said, we can NOT drive past a Starbucks without stopping. It’s her one vice. I deal with it cuz it could be a whole lot worse. She don’t blow money on shoes or jewelry or makeup, so it’s a pretty good trade.

 

I heard my pumpkin and my snowman might need some accompaniment....

Ain’t got any place to store this tho....

 

Ya know that kcup bs is nothing more than expensive instant coffee. You can rip open one of those things and poor the contents into a cup of hot water and get the same thing, no need for a $300 machine. You'd be better served with a jar of Sanka than that kcup junk. But I will say whoever thought that up was brilliant. Sell people 5 cents worth of instant coffee for $2 a pop... genius.

 

And thank you for pointing out where I messed up. My wife buys all that crap. Now she works and has a decent job. But she likes to spend. That's why she is in no way allowed to touch my business accounts. We get a weekly paycheck and that's it. Her parents did not bother to teach her to save, nor has life. Im a cash horrder.

 

I used to blow money like there was no tomorrow. I'm still not great at saving but I'm getting better.

Well simple way to become wealthy, spend less than you make. Save, and save.

 

Sounds like you’re doin it right. Keeping the business accounts separate. We do the same.

If it ain’t for the truck, then it don’t come from the trucking account.

Bout twice a month we move a little money from the business account to our personal account. It’s our “paycheck”. She works too. Teaching school doesn’t pay much these days, but it’s what she loves.

 

Thanks for sending it. I really enjoy seeing how stuff like that gets done. You guys probably don’t really understand, but it’s a different world here in the patch. I get to see the day-to-day activities of the industry that I’m in, but nothing else.

It’s always a learning experience on this forum for me.
