I really think each one of us brings a certain "quality of experience " to the table here.... makes this particular thread very interesting!

I've met Wore, Superhauler, and Logan76 in person, great guys in life as well as on the forum.

Both my parents came from poor families. And they did good. Well good times and bad. My parents never bought us any car, or toys. You wanted it you worked for it. Before I turn 38 in 17 days my small trucking business will be debt free. Now I have a few other ventures with loans, and two home loans, which one is a duplex and rent both units. No car loans, no toys with loans. Cars you almost have to finance anymore, but boats, bikes, campers if you can't pay cash for it you don't need. it. Its the hard way, and you watch your friends and family and know they are swimming in debt. But I know in the long run it will be worth it.

I can't figure out for the life of me the guy rolling a 70k diesel pickup and driving truck or working in a factory. You can't drive both, only one makes good money. Its expensive ride to tool around to a 8 hour shift at the plant? No offense to anyone here. Just don't get it. Have a neighbour with a 50k 1500, I asked what do you do with that? You cut your drywall, or plywood in half to haul it? Needless to say there ain't many scratches in the bed?

Call me chicken, that's okay with me, but it scares me to death to have anything in the yard I can't buy with cash. If I have payments on stuff and something goes wrong like say a slow down in work, then what. I don't have fancy new trucks, but the trucks are paid for, and so if they sit it isn't a big deal.
