Sounds like you already realize that the trick to not ballooning is to have all the tarps overlap with the front ones on the top and the rear ones laid underneath the one in front. Same basic trick applies to certain plumbing issues, upper pipe Inserted into the female end, which should be under the male end.

I'm the same way. When I was at the crane company a got a huge mix of alot of different things. We were a mostly daily rental outfit. One day I might be stacking a cell tower the next I'd be putting 40k# vaults in the ground and the next I might be pulling a flat or a RGN or any of the other hundreds of trailers they had. Now I just get to see rail yards and dealerships. That's why I come over here to learn stuff. Never know where I might end up tomorrow!

[QUOTE="Lysdexis, post: 8103928, member: 226695" I could have fixed it the right way but that would have required me walking on top of the load and ole boy ain't a fan of heights so that wasnt about to happen.[/QUOTE]

I always say I have a fear of heights, but that's not really true. I have a fear of falling and I despise wobbly ladders. I have to admit there's some reservations on this new adventure because of it.

Right, my normal sop is to tarp the rear pulling forward to have just enough room left for the flap to tie up nice. Then work forward pulling the slack out as I go. Then throw the front tarp and do the same thing. I didnt get to do that this go around. Also this was first time with an uneven load height.

Exactly. No true fear of heights. I love to fly, been up on the arch in St. Louis, have no problem walking around on the roof of my house blowing leaves off. The falling part is what I fear. And the wonky ladders.
