Had a 2ws Cat in a 50t rotator wrecker with 250k, computed the idle/pto hours and it was equal to 1.4 million. Hard to explain to co workers how important it was to take care of them.

I'm at 31,900 with full tanks (225g). I have to pass on some really good paying loads cause they're too heavy.

 

My first driver may not have lasted 2 weeks, still on the fence with what to do.

Is asking a van driver to pull a conestoga for 2 weeks with strap only loads a big enough deal that warrants him walking away from the truck under a load and telling you to call him when theres van work?

.60 a mile all miles paid to him.

I don't know what pizzes me off more, the fact that somebody did that or that they got away with it.

 

Central Illinois. Town of about 3000 people. 2 stories plus 9’ ceilings in the basement. 5500 sq ft per level.

Chinese food next door, burgers across the street, 3 bars with food all in walking distance and a liquor store directly across the street. 2 dollar stores, Napa and about 4 other restaurants. 3 gas stations with a ford and Chevy dealers. we have a great family owned Grocery store that is easier to walk to than drive. We literally have one “red, yellow, green” light in the whole town.

We are however surrounded by cornfields. The closest Walmart is about 1/2 hour away. Decent size town is 50 min away. 90 min to Midway airport. Worse case we can literally have ANYTHING we want in Chicago in 2 hours tops.

The problem is it’s illinois.

The reason we don’t have any crime is you can’t get away. There is nowhere to hide for 25 miles in any direction and everyone knows everyone. Our cop shop handles about 6 towns around us. The office is less than a block away. Fire and rescue is the same block away too.

Young couple got a place a block over. Completely gutted it and all fresh build other than the front and 2 side walls. Looks amazing. They got both parcels for $4700.00 total.

Some days I miss Phoenix, AZ and SO, CAL and the great friends I had there but not enough to go back.

I do however miss the recreation of the west coast. I loved off roading, dunes, lake Havasue, the beach, skiing etc.

None of that stuff here. Every inch of land that doesn’t have development on it is farmed.
