Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
what if you have 8 points ?

Might be better to show what the tickets were for.
Many states do not use points and the CDL is more interested in the types of tickets and what they were for. -
Good luck big daddy I think your SOL. Sorry thats just putting it nice. Right now the company's have there picks of the run. I doubt you get hired over someone with experiance and good driving record. I wish you luck but to be honest someone with a cdl you should take better steps to make sure you keep up a good record it's your living your messing with.

point taken dren . as for road medic i live in michigan (where they go by points) they were/are 3 speedings 10 mph under and 1 for wrong lane to make up 8 points . the company i worked for never cared how many you had but now they changed their insurance and only allow 6 points in 3 years . they were slow like many and wanted to save money on the insurance plus have a valid reason to down size . i have 3 years recent experience and cant use it now . ive had my cdl since 92 but only did it for a few years back then and just got back into it in 06 . i will be down to 4 in december 09 so for 10 months i guess ill do something else . after that i will use the cruise definately ...

Times are tough. Most companies are interested in the last couple of years.
Some of the smaller companies might be easier than the larger.
I know it is hard to do the speed limit. Especially in the 55 states, but I run no faster than 62 and in the others I set the cruise at 65 and then never worry about the police. -
Man, I hate to say it but I am afraid ol' Dren is correct at the moment. So many people are out of work they can pick and chose who they want.
Maybe some small local stuff like roadmedic was talking about. If you were in Tx I could help you out as we have a lot of smaller yet very well paying companies as they seem to be the only ones surviving down here, not the mega companies with lots of overhead. -
yes ive already looked and not found . i thought someone on here may have known at least one that i hadnt tried . itll have to be something else for this year im affraid . ill be driving again next winter ...

I know of one possibility, but they are horrible to work for, McLeod Express.

I would quit driving before I went to McLeod Express. They are hand down the wort company I ever drove for. They have no miles, I was averaging 1400 a week, and they are the most disorganized company I have ever seen. My dispatcher would call me to see what loads i was on!(they have trip planners, dispatchers, mechanics, etc., all qcoming you and they never communicate with each other.) I know this would be hard to believe in trucking, but they lying was what got to me. Not just on the typical things, but stupid things like load appt. times or hours or anything, if they didnt know they would make it up! Their guarantee was changed to after 6 months of employment, you will never make it with them that long unless you are willing to work for pennies and deal with a lot of b.s. I've never driven for a big company like werner or swift or anything, but it can't get much worse then mcleod express!
