My bad then. I heard that side of the country was stickers. Guess I heard wrong. Yeah. We'd get put out of business with those kinds of loads. Not only from overweights. But from cars sueing for rocks messing up their cars. Not only do the loads have to be legal. They have to be hidden also. Which would be hard to do for them 6 axle trucks that can haul the weight.
I don’t know about that. My recall is fuzzy but when I left NY, I think straight trucks with 5 axles and a stinger could carry in excess of 30 tons legally and the load wasn’t visible. I’ll get some clarification on that when I get a moment.
I’m curious about the hp rating of 365 hp. On that truck. C12 can pull with the big boys but it’s the stock 430hp that push over 500 with a simple tune. After that, slap a Detroit turbo on it good for 10 more pounds of boost and you have a beast
last post i must not of sent! well looked at the truck, it wasnt too bad shape, felt tight, no leaks etc. will need a compressor soon as i hear a bad rattle, vibration rolling down the road from the rear. we settled at 27k if i did decide to buy it. BUT, it was no c-12 and in fact a 3176. and i lost complete interest lol. drove 12 hours round trip for the wrong motor. although i got home and found another truck, closer as well. check this out for me! and sorry but those ratings its good for 22-23 ton in NY 1999,Peterbilt, triaxle, dump truck, 252" wheel base. (kinda short?) and its a 16.6 box which i dont think i prefer either. usualy 17-19 up here
I think a 99 is too new to come from the factory with a mechanical Cat. It has the tall roof cab which suggest it originally had a sleeper. I also don't think that's a true 20k pound steer axle since it doesn't appear to have dual steering boxes. To me it looks like a truck that has been pieced together. It depends a lot on who made all these modifications on how good of a truck it would actually be.
I went back and looked at enlarged pictures. I don't see a high roof. I see too many wires to be mechanical. I also see a double (sleeved) frame and air trac suspension with tracking rods.
Fails to give mileage on truck as well. That’s a truck you have to go look at in person and go completely through it. Dirty ### motor for recent overhaul
