Must not have been very good. It looks like you haven't even touched it. It's been a whole day already. It's gotta be cold by now.

Christian holiday season marking waiting for the “arrival” of Christ’s birth @ Christmas. You know, a pagan holiday celebrating lights (fire) and earth/ longevity (evergreen tree) and community benevolence (gifts/ generosity) during a similar time of the winter solstice. I’m sure the church had a lot easier time floating that idea to the pagans of Celtic areas that it was “almost the same!” In terms of symbolism as the center of the Christian faiths: the life of Christ/second coming of Christ.

Chocolate advent calendars are a thing. A great thing if you’re a kid. One small piece of chocolate every day! Shrouded in mystery (hidden behind a little cardboard flap) as to which kind of chocolate it is.

To clarify: my kids were pumped about the chocolate and the anticipation of what kind of chocolate- not anything religion related lol

Webster: a coming into place, view, or being; arrival: the advent of the holiday season. (usually initial capital letter) the coming of Christ into the world..... Celebrated with a calendar to denote each day of the countdown....

I'm not, even remotely, a religious man... but that's beer (an Advent calendar Steph assembled), I know it... and I'm not turning that away. That's just wasteful.
