We're in the same boat, have zero to a little less than zero desire to buy a truck. Company sets me up in brand new equipment and gives me a decent paycheck. I do what they ask to the best of my limited ability, take care of their equipment and rarely ever hear from them.

My late 20s feel like my late 40s. Could be because I'm out of shape

Funny how everyone says “if I only knew then what I knew now”.

You can’t. It’s just impossible to cram 40 years of life experience into 20-some years of actual life. I should know. I tried that once over beers with my dear ol’ dad while he was still working. ;)

Well, age and wisdom do have their graces.

The important thing is knowing that one doesn’t have to be old to appreciate that fact. :)

Speaking from experience and not listening to my father and his buddy when they chastised me for jumping down from a flatbed, don't do it. I'm 50 now and I can still jump up on a flat, climb all over a load and carry a set of tarps. However at the end of the day if I don't take advil before bed, getting out of bed the next morning is painful. My knees are going and most of that can be attributed to jumping down from trailers, loads, frames. Just 5 years ago I was still superman then one morning I woke to aching knees, aching elbows, advil and the realization that those old men were right.

I agree, I will say though that most of my friends that drive has nice trucks and make a good living. @snowman_w900 or @superhauler for example don’t drive buckets of bolts and I assume they do ok. I never ask what anyone makes but I don’t get the impression they’re broke.
