    Smooth, lug, lug is the way we were taught.

    Our new air packs have bluetooth ability. Command can look at everybody with their pack turned on and see how much air they have and how fast they're using it. They also have a "beacon" in them for locating lost or trapped guys.

    But that's a good looking Columbia. Not a dirty white aerocab with 3/4's of the side fairings flapping around in the wind. Any truck someone takes pride in looks good.

    A lot of extra moving parts to fail. The storz connection is about as simple as you can get for fire hose.
    It's a 1/4 turn connection with locking tabs.

    The only moving parts are the red tabs.

    Your right on couples but not every dept has same hose. But the male thread still goes to nozzel, female goes to engine.
