Well, in any other industry, I'd say honesty is best, but in an industry that bases itself on lies in the 1st place,( and always has) I hate to to tell ya', but what did you expect? And the real kicker, is lying works. All my career, I broke every rule that would bend, I had to, to make a living. I'm not particularly proud of that fact, but the way I figure, you gonna mess with my life with stupid rules and regulations, I have to try and outsmart you, and for 35 years, I did. Getting a lot tougher these days, in part why I quit trucking, but a little forethought goes a long way, and can you live with a few lies? Then trucking is for you.
An old timer once told me about trucking,( and this was 40 years ago) "sometimes a lie well stuck to, is almost better than the truth".

The problem wasn't that the physician didn't/couldn't give you a DOT medical card. The problem wasn't that you were being honest.
The problem was, you smoked Marijuana. Maybe its time to start focusing as much on state & federal law as you do Gods law. Just sayin'......

Well, he never stated which state he was in. He might have been 100% legal.
Even if he was less than legal, so what? At that point he never planned to be trucking again so what's the big deal?

It’s not legal in ANY state in the eyes of the feds. It’s against the law in the eyes of the government and isn’t cdl federal?

I'm the original poster... Let me ask this question. My current DOT card doesn't expire until May of 2019. I just didn't have the actual card. So can I just go get a copy of my valid card and go ahead and start working.

Just wondering on the long form there's a question on there "do you consume alcohol"? I always mark yes. If yes you must explain so I put down consume 2X/week. That way if something were to happen they wouldn't catch me in a lie and potential liability. And BTW I'm glad the pot smokers get black balled.
