It is not only the delays but the attitude alot of the customs officers have. After dealing with some of them you would have to wonder if they want us to cross the border at all. They are off to save the world...lets exray the truck for explosives after it has already crossed the bridge that they are worried someone will blow up.They have it completely a--backwards going both directions.I personally like driving in the US. much better than Canada but why do they treat drivers so badly.

    Don't feel so bad.

At Portal, ND, a returning citizen to the US is treated like they are a criminal. It is that way depending on the shift. I avoid that port as much as possible. I bet if they were treated the way they treat people, they
would be extremely upset and want the person fired.

This is a port that used to be made of friendly custom officers. It is now so different. It is shameful.

From taking my personal vehicle down to the US, i find the US custom guys and gals quite friendly most of the time. Coming back into Canada though its the opposite I find, total jerk offs. Thats only my experience though.

I have only been crossing for 3 years and i have had only one VERY bad instance at Blaine. I almost went to the mat with 2 ahole US customs guys who had the power of the world on their shoulders. Or atleast they thought they did. After citing the riot act, and that what they threatened me with was excessive force, and talking to their higher up i received a written apology from them 2 weeks later in the mail. No use playing me for stupied when i use to be in law enforcement. I find some crossing are more pr1cks than others. :biggrin_25511:

Other than that i have had very good luck with borders. We cross a lot at Sweetgrass and they know our company well. I am just getting tired of sitting at the border meat inspect when i miss their closing time! GRRR :biggrin_25510:

No... you can't, and I wouldn't advise trying.

I crossed into Sarnia, ON daily for almost a year with no problems. In fact, I had admitted the DUI (8 years old) on several occasions when questioned. Then...

One night, I got the B**** from hell. She threatened to throw me in jail, the whole nine yards. I was detained for a few hours and finally sent back to Michigan and told never to return... unless I paid their extortion... er... I mean, rehabilitation fee of $1000. NOT!

Screw Canada, they can kiss my backside.

I crossed as a tourist. My wife and kids were waiting on immigration.
