if anything, its piece of mind doing it your self. big air leaks cuase very low egt. i should know. i used 3" pvc caps to fit in the 4" boots. just bring one of our boots into home depot and get the fittings you need. grab a regulator with gauge from harbor freight. use the stock clamps from your boots to tighten down on the pvc and dont build pressure over 30 psi. You dont need to test for leaks any more than 15-20 psi. I got a little crazy testing my new intercooler and brought pressure up to 50 psi. the pvc exploded out of the boot and shattered into a million pieces. could have been a trip to the hospital

On the fuel pressure guage fluttering, I heard that could be caused by bad Injector seals, is there any truth to that?

I had a broken spring on an injector and the fuel pressure gauge would jump Everytime that injector fired it seemed, but it also ran horrible and they should have seen a broken spring when doing the overhead. So I really don't think that was any help. Just talking out loud

If starved of fuel you would think motor would be missing upon acceleration. You said you didn’t feel any of that. The extremely low egt on hard pulls is what sounds off. I’m just talking out loud too. Give it 24 hours and more people will chime in and give their insite

I agree, I hate to be asking all kinds of questions but was wondering when I turn the motor off, should my fuel pressure guage instantly lose pressure or should It leak down?

I don’t know for sure and never thought of it, but I don’t think there should be any pressure since the pump isn’t running. If there was, then you would have fuel hitting you in the face with much force if you changed a fuel filter

Mine will hold pressure when I shut the truck down and slowly bleed down. It's doesn't spray you in the face because it's holding the pressure after the filter. I think

Fuel pressure fluttering some is normal to an extent. Have you changed the fuel check valve in the filter base ? Pull it out and replace, those pcs. Of black rubber is fuel line deteriorating from inside. Some of those pcs of rubber are probably screwing up the check valve.

That is normal. If the pressure falls off as soon as you kill engine then check valve or primer pump is bad.

    Oxbow and lester Thank this.

I didn’t read all the replies so forgive me if it was already said.

I have the same engine, 475HP C15 upgraded to a 550HP .... my boost was 48 under load, so just keep that in mind.
