All the fleets ARE trading theirs in at 300 to 400k, and in a few years you'll see why.

All my research is in the blocks I've seen with this mysterious hole in the side just suddenly seems to appear and won't just go away as soon as it appeared.

That’s what I said. They trade them in quickly, I don’t. I plan on running mine to 500-550k.

I wonder what some of you are in this business for. To make money, or not?

Me, I'm in it for the money.

Back of napkin math. Someone claimed to get 7-8 mph in a 12.7L Series 60 DD. The poster didn't have any data to back up that claim, but let's give him the benefit of the doubt anyways and assume the high end at 8.0 mpg.

Misesian runs 8.9 and he has the data to back it up.

If you run 85k miles in a year, that's a difference of $2375 in fuel at $3.00/gal, and that is taking DEF into account at $.01 per mile in Misesian's International.

Now, I'm still pretty new to truck driving, I'm not an O/O yet (which is why I'm here, researching), but fuel is one of the biggest costs in this game is it not? Seems like if you can save that much fuel, and you're in this game for the $$, you would want to do whatever Misesian is doing because that is a good chunk of money.

Question for you- in the Pete did you plug in the Scangauge to find optimal boost for MPG, and use the advanced fuel saving driving techniques as you do now?

So you think all segments of trucking are the same huh? You've got alot to learn. My business model is not even close to Misesian. I run an older W900 and haul heavy, tall and wide. He prolly pulls a van.

Well, personally when I'm grossing around 90k or more with a oversize crate or machine on a RGN or stepdeck, fuel mileage dont mean much to me. If I have to pinch pennies worrying about an extra mile per gallon in fuel, that means I bid that load to cheap.

You dont know why some us are out here in this business? LOL....Why the #### would I wanna come out here an haul cheap ### freight just to survive. Not everyone has to act like that and drive using Kevin Ripperoff "techniques ". What a joke.

If 2300 dollars means anything to you at the end of an 85,000 mile year, you should be rethinking your business entirely. I pull a hopper with an older w9 getting about 5mpg, and I'm still making money, if certain individuals on here were making three quarters of what they claim all miles, there is no way in hell they'd driving an ugly ### aero truck. This is the internet, it is the new lunch counter these individuals complain about, take everything with a tablespoon of salt.

I can tell you wanna argue but I'm not going to bite. You do whatever works for you, I'm not going to crap on it. I'm going to keep my eyes and ears open to good ideas and implement them into my career, whether that be growing the top line or saving costs. Earnings are earnings, I don't much care which way they come.
