I got the go ahead from Swift, but Im moving to another state, just so I can work for them. they don't hire from Long Island or Manhattan, so Im moving further north. All this just to work for them. No company is hiring out of NY, only 2 companies are CR England and Swift. That is it. Not even Werner is hiring from here. Im happy, not the happiest, but just happy that I found something. Orientation starts in April

I'm going March 23rd, Not much else going on in Oregon either, I've had 4 responses:
May, WS, Swift, and a Multi-company recruiter who told me to check out complaints against Swift on Ripoffreport.com--I saw a bunch of whining but I didn't see a lot to consider truly a ripoff unless I just didn't look far enough. the recruiter was trying to sell me on Roadmaster. Everyone has an angle, I guess. I let you know how its going and I'd like you to do the same if you would, Supatruka. Thanks for the info.

Don't do it. You'll be happier and probably make more money being a telemarketer. Not only is it extremely difficult to cut your teeth as a truck driver with a good company, you are going to be ridiculed and messed with incessantly while you're behind the wheel of a Swift truck. Good luck, you're going to need it.

If you can't take a little razzing from others you have no business trucking or numerous other fields I've caught h311 at every mechanics shop I have ever worked in because I don't have a $30,000 snap-on tool box but you know what my cheap tools and box make the same per hour as thers do and I don't have a weekly payment to the snap-on rep. Razzing is part of many jobs.

Enjoy that .21 a mile and 5000 miles per week # 62mph. Or is it .43 a mile and 1000 miles a week?

There's a reason why Swift is doing so much hiring. It's called rollover and cheap freight rates. Sorry............sad but true.

Wish you luck none the less though.

It's a little different when you're doing the same job for roughly the same pay and just being new. We're talking about Swift here, the only thing that's the same between Swift and the rest of us out there is we roll on 18 wheels, and I'm giving a lot of credit to Swift for using all 18.

Here is a question for Newbies. What do you do when a truck passes you? No you do not flash your high beams on and off. That could blinded the trucker passing you and cause an accident. You turn your lights on and off.

Now one for the Swift newbies. What do you do when you pass another truck?

    WAKE UP, YOU ARE DREAMING.

DAM some of you guys are really negative. Yeah swift maybe sucks for you but its good for other drivers. Did all of you guys start out at the top of the line companies most likely not. You have to start somewhere. With the way the economy is any job is better than no job.

To the new Swift guys. The Trucks are equipped with "critical event" alerts. If you take a corner too fast or brake too hard, it will send a message to safety. You only have 9 lives, then your gone.
