Mrs Rc, it could be that Covenant freight base, is getting smaller with the economy being so bad. Their probably diong this so each driver/team is getting some miles.

Latest update.
Is it me or does it seem as though freight is starting to finally pick up?
After Team Redcoat spent four days in Las Vegas, they've been pretty busy. They've gone from Nevada to Idaho to Montana to California. They had to spend a couple days in French Camp to get a windshield replaced in the truck but as soon as that was "sorted," they got a dispatch from there to Kansas. They had to take the scenic route because at the time Donner Pass was closed. Interesting that their route took them several hundred miles out of the way but their delivery time stayed the same. They had two extra drops on that trip, both in Denver. The way it was set up Redcoat had to drive through Denver to make the first drop, then back through Denver to make the second drop, than BACK through Denver yet again to get to their fuel stop. When he called me he had just been through Denver for the third time and his description of the traffic was that it was "diabolical."
Now, if I'm not mistaken, they have another dispatch from Kansas back to California. Redcoat says it seems as if they have gotten themselves into a high-freight pattern which bodes well for them. It could be that Redcoat might even get two decent checks IN A ROW! What a concept!
Other from that I have no other exciting news. Redcoat mentioned that while he was in French Camp he was approached by a young man going through training who asked him if he was Redcoat from the forums. He said he was but the newbie said he couldn't remember what his forum name was so whoever you are, if you read this we say hi.
Redcoat has never read any of this thread. It's probably just as well because I know for a fact that he wouldn't like much of what I say. He's a very private person and is uncomfortable with the way I lay all our stuff out there but he also knows that there have been quite a few people helped by the knowledge they've gained through our discussions not to mention all the help we've received ourselves from all our friends here.
And that's about it. Looking forward to spring. -
Latest update.
OK I found out that Team Redcoat is actually on their way to Chicago.
Redcoat has found out some information on Covenant's drop pay. When he first started it used to be $50 per drop for each driver. That has now changed. It is now $25 for the first drop (split between the drivers), $30 for the second drop (split between the drivers) and $40 for the third drop -- you guessed it -- split between the drivers.
Just thought y'all would like to know. -
I am glad for team RC
CONGRATULATIONS RC!! For someone who doesn't like this job, you are doing great! Hang in there man. Would like to know what his plans are for after teaming. If he wants to go solo, try Walmart dedicated. I am going nuts here, accepting all the loads they give me and delivering ASAP to get even more loads... Well, I am running hard just because I want it. Load planner is great.... if I wanted more time off, they would give it to me. But no, I want to run hard, really hard, so I am not complaining.... just exhausted. If RC wants to stay teaming, look for reffer division, they get good miles too.
All the best to you guys.

I am glad things are going better for RedCoat.
Rocks I seen a Covenant truck hooked to a Wal-Mart trailer at a Flying J in Indiana. It was at exit 25 on I-64 near Evansville,In. I stayed there last night. Truck was very clean was wondering if it was you but,was too afraid to knock on door. -
As I recall, it wasn't that long ago he was ready to hang it up altogether.
But eating 7 days a week instead of 5, does strange things to a man -

Latest update.
Team Redcoat is making their way to Torrence, CA. Last I talked to him they were just outside of New Mexico looking for a Pilot that didn't have a mile-long line for the showers. They have plenty of time to make their delivery as it's not due until Monday.
I remember well when Redcoat was a case of frazzled nerves. Now he's just jaded and kind of resigned to his fate. He is still looking for a trucking company that will hire a driver with 3 months experience. He thought it would be Melson but when I called the recruiter she said they changed it to six months. Redcoat said if he had to wait six months, then he'll just go ahead an stick it out to get his bonus (until they take that away too).
He really detests Covenant. He said it wouldn't be so bad if the company didn't advertise so heavily about how much they C.A.R.E. about their drivers. If they just owned up to the fact that they pay slave wages because they're the only company that will hire drivers with issues, then it wouldn't be so bad. But he really hates the hypocracy and doesn't want to be any part of it.
I saw a Covenant tractor with a Wal-Mart trailer Tuesday afternoon on my way back to Huntsville. It was getting on 78 at the Hamilton exit (7?) heading east as I was getting off 78 to head into Hamilton. I've found that Corridor V is a nice drive from Hamilton to Huntsville. Anyway, I thought of Rocks when I saw it but since she's been driving up north, I see it wasn't her.
I've had a fairly decent week selling pictures. I made $700 in two days work so that helps a lot. I try not to be to specific about how much I make when I talk to Redcoat because I know it's very discouraging for him to know that he's out there 24/7 and has never seen that much money in his check for the entire week, let alone two days. But the extra loot will come in handy as our insurance is due so that will eat that up pretty quick.
And that's all my news. Nothing much exciting going on. Just the daily grind as far as Redcoat is concerned but I will keep you all posted even if our lives are kind of boring at the moment.
Stay tuned.The Challenger Thanks this.
