Friends,
I'm looking at these 3 companies to begin my trucking life.
I've got my permit in hand.
I'm located near chattanooga tn.
I'm interested in hearing about your experiences in the cdl training programs that each offer, pros and cons that you've experienced, and whether you'd make that choice again if you had to do it all over.
I've read all I can, searching the forums, and I've pretty much worn that out over the past month.
Honest feedback, ideas, possible alternatives, and suggestions are all welcome.
No trashing or bashing please... That would be counter productive.
Thanks in advance... Have a great day and God bless you all!

Unless the policy has changed, RE West doesn't have a binding contract to sign like the other two do.
If that's true, that's a good benefit.TNSquire Thanks this. -
If you quit or get termed within 6mos, you pay back the sign on bonus.
40cpm flatbed pay, military vet bonus program, out 2-3 weeks at a crack...Last edited: Dec 16, 2018
CJ701 Thanks this. -
That's a good deal.
There's posts on here almost daily where drivers know of a better job opportunity, but are locked into a contract at the time, so can't leave without numerous hurdles to overcome.
You won't have that problem.TNSquire Thanks this. -
It's a big decision, obviously, and one that's difficult to reverse without major implications...Chinatown Thanks this. -
There's another Chattanooga driver that used to post on here.
He went with RE West to get started and said it was ok.
Can't remember his screen name.TNSquire Thanks this. -
Which one Did you decide on? How’s things going? I have an interview with RE West on Wed.TNSquire Thanks this. -
Tmc and re west are first choices, roehl my back up. -
Chinatown Thanks this.

I also have another avenue I'm exploring...
By trade I'm a Sawmill operator.
My core intent with driving is expanding my business.
I'm eyeballing a boom truck I can use to that end, as a dual purpose type investment.
Shag logs I get free from companies I work with, haul them to my mill, run them into finished materials, then load the materials onto the truck for delivery.
I deal in cross ties and stick wood, mill run and grade.
While I'm confident I can operate that truck respectably, I'd be much more confident having seat time with a driver who knows their business training me properly.
Operating a vehicle that large and heavy isn't a game.
Way too many tards out there already .. I don't need to add to that, or make things worse for anyone.
I'm here to help others, best I can, and make the world a better place through my endeavors.
Crushing a prious because they were stupid and I was stupid for putting myself in harms way needlessly isn't what I want to face God on judgment day with.
