That's because the one pound cans aren't Freon. It's butane mixed with other stuff.
You can do an open book test and get a license to buy Freon for like 60 bucks. Lol
All about the money!
Time to buy a new semitruck, but not sure what brand

I will tell that fuel mileage is not even in the top 3 expense items.
It would be best if you stayed in your lane of experience. I will stay out off speculating about you segment.
Sincerely
A heavy haul operatorZeviander, Razororange, cke and 8 others Thank this. -
Lot of people focus hard on the accounting side of business because the never took business classes. Lot of people don’t know how to make more money so they focus on cutting expenses. Business is business.
I’m not going to comment on heavy haul or reefer work, because I don’t know enough about them to be a source of knowledge. Business is business. I know business.blacklabel, Zeviander, Razororange and 5 others Thank this. -

O.k I know I am behind . Early when I was saying this is wrong . Here is my reasoning .
Running at really low rpms ,this is why.
Yes you might use less fuel but normally use more because the engine is not at it's most efficient rpm.
Go look up liner fretting or actually understand the forces in a engine ( pistons ,rods, crank ) NOT a POS scan gauge . Then come argue this fact .
So I save 2300$ a year on fuel but every 3 ( even say 4 ) years I have to put a 45,000 motor in it . Expain to me how that actually works out further ahead in the long run .
If you turn your truck over every 2-3 years and put all the driver idoit protection in . Don't change oil or grease , hell I don't care what you don't do , it will run , trade it off .
Now if you pull lots of weight or run order trucks or don't trade them in every oil change , you have to work with your equipment not fight or abuse it . That's why there is the different opinions.
Well and there's the fact guys don't know the oil drain plug is and try to tell you have to drive with no understand of what they are driving .
This is not aimed at anyone , it is just common knowledge that is not common .
So I typed this , does that make me a office secretary?
I can put a bandaid on , does that make me a doctor ?
Just because you drive truck or maybe pulled a 10 wide DOES not make you a HH guy or think you know what it takes to do this .
I am not saying HH guys are god , blah, blah ,blah , but any one of these guys ( myself included) will tell you we know a fraction of what we could . There are different areas ,rules ,loads , trailers , endless options out there .
That's is the difference RIGHT there and every problem person on here .
You take a HH guy and show him a better way or prove it and he will considerate it or listen not blah, blah blah .
We help each other without being so proud we can't admit to ourself that there could be a possibility of not knowing everything .
I DO NOT speak for anybody but my self . To me that is the HH world and endless things you can't wrap your head around if you have not been there .
Just cause you pull 8 axel does not mean you know a 13 , ect
Anyways rant overOxbow Thanks this. -

I generally average 4-6 mpg because I usually have the cruise set at 75+.
For my line of work getting the load there as fast as a single driver can is the goal. It what my customers expect. They pay a premium for that service. When they have a plant offline and 20 millwrights standing around at $50/HR per person nobody gives a #### about fuel efficiency.
We had a problem with them a few months back. They got somebody new in their logistics department that wanted to save money on shipping. They compared our rates with a brokerage firm. The broker was significantly cheaper. They told us that everything would go through the broker now and we told them to pound sand and call back when they had enough. 2 months later they called back because they were tired of Russians in Volvo's showing up late with no tarps and no safety gear. They fired their broker and said we get everything no questions asked along with a small bump in the rates.
I don't make money fretting over pennies at the pump if that means I will lose my customers. Does matter if I save a few dollars on fuel if that results in me standing on a corner with a sign.Zeviander, PoleCrusher, cke and 3 others Thank this.
