    January is the same old thing. Lease is up closer to summer. I will turn it in, collect my bonus and go home. Come back in a month or two and start again.

    I'm basically a company driver that chooses his loads, goes home when he wants that makes $1.33 per mile.

    $2.51 to the truck and $1.33 to me. Yeah, I'm happy with that.

    If you make more that's great.

    The detention pay though!!?? What seems to be the issue at your shippers? LOL. I rarely if ever have detention pulling a flat.

    Usually weather. Sites get rained out. Wind gets too high.

    My detention rate is usually between $680 to $1200 per day. A full days detention after 4 hours. It's really not a lot of detention.

    I actually sat down with a L/P guy last night and talked about his numbers. Had to be the most honest I’ve ever spoken with. Amazing.

    His goal was to gross $3200-$3500 per week. With a weekly payment of $1300+ all in.

    Guy was happy as a pig in mud. He was meeting his goals and then some. Not $5 a mile, not 6 figures. Just a happy driver.

    Low expectations can equal great success. ;)

    I'm at $212,752.38 with 10 days to go, and I'll be out.

    Only like 7 or 8 weeks out the house though total.

    I'll have to add it up, and see if I made any money.
