Looking to replace steer and narrowed it down to Continental HS3 and Michelin X Line Energy Z.
Both 11R22.5 and 16ply. Anyone with any experience with either brand that could provide any cons or pros would be greatly appreciated.
Conti vs Michelin steer tires, which is the best choice?

This is from experience, stay with Michelin X-Line Energy Z or Bridgestone R283a for steer tires and use wheel balancers, like Centramatics.
Bakerman Thanks this. -
Just the fact you us centramatics brings your experience into question. LOL
I have run Mich and was impressed with mileage but at $6?? each ??
Bridge R283 not bad but nothing special
I'm running conti's now and have no complaints so far.magoo68 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Got 224k miles from my last set of Michelins. MD alignment, counteract balance beads, and 125 PSI (14 ply). Never rotated, wore beautifully. Still had 6-7/32 when I traded them in.

Been running Bridgestone R283. Tire blew up. Manufacturer said that it was our fault because tire was underinflated which was total baloney since the truck has just left the house and day prior we checked all tire for proper pressure. Bridgestone had problems with their steers and they would not own up to it....
jsnell and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
XZE 2 would be an option as well i guess, not sure what the difference is
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

No question...... Michelins. The 283a Bridgestone just dont hold up.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
The question was Michelins or Continentals. LOL
Read much???roshea and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I’d pick Continentals. I’ve seen too many Michelin’s blow out on Cars. Weak sidewalks. Maybe Truck tires are different, I don’t care. I had 1 set of Continentals 18 yrs ago. Great tires. Ive ran Firestone steers for 10+ yrs now always good. Worth Considering
Diesel Dave Thanks this.
