Hey Prancerdog how long did it take Gordon to let you know you were on a list? I graduated 02/19/09. I've been told by the school that my app. is still processing and that's good. I don't want to bother Gordon. I know they have lots of apps to go through. I do want to get on the road. Any new info would be appreciated.
prancerdog Thanks this. -
You started driving when you where 13? And you are still a student?
Now why do you want to lump truck drivers in with "all drivers"? Professional drivers are far better drivers and have a far better safety record then the average commuter.

Don't want to bother the employer?
How do you think you get hired when there is another hundred apps in the stack. By being one of the heard? You want to get on the road then you make it known to the company you are ready to roll.

freebird you should contact the area gordon recruiter, they are great and there for you.I was a ready to go prehire before I finished school, and when I did grad with my cdl license the school sent them everything they needed and the same day I was put on the student list it looks like next week I will be in orientation
yea thats funny but it was more like 11 when I was riding my dirt bike to school on the streets, but it was a small town and my dad was well known and at 13 I drove my sister to school in my first truck every school day. But now IR JOING TO BE A REAL TRUCK DRIVER.and when it comes to driving we are allways students as we are in life if you ar not learning something you are not living

Prancerdog thanx for the info. Good luck on your new career. hope that I'm right behind you. I don't think that the school that I went to was as on the ball as much as yours was.

thanks freebird good luck, also I have been set up for the ca nv az region or what they call the the nca after training so let me know if you make it with them, and when Iam in az we could get some coffee and talk about what brought us to trucking at our age AND CALL THE RECRUITER AT GORDEN!!! FOLLOW UP, STAY ON TOP OF THE SCHOOL, ASK HIM WHAT HE NEEDS FROM YOU. YES MY SCHOOL WAS HELPFULL BUT I STAYED ON TOP OF MY RECRUITMENT AND THERE RESPONSEABLITY TO HELP ME

Professional drivers refer to each other as "drivers", all else are 4wheelers.
