I hope you're not insinuating that in your area if you're bobtail you don't have to go into an open scale because it weighs less than 26,000 lbs.

Yes I am because I’m under 26,000. The sign says commercial vehicles over 26,000 which bobtail I am not. There are some that state all trucks and commercial vehicles must stop, but most are over 26,000. I’ve asked the scale house guys about it since I used to stop when driving the company f550 box van.Last edited: Dec 23, 2018

You do realize the scale houses aren't referring to weather or not your commercial vehicle weighs 26001 or more, they are referring to the GVWR. Rating, not the weight of your truck.
Some states require any vehicle 10,000 gvwr or more to enter. Bobtailing does not exempt youBean Jr., jamespmack, 4mer trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
The weight of your bobtail had nothing to do with that. Lol. Your vehicle is GVWR is 80,000 lbs, so yeah, you have to go in.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Page 11. All with a GVW, not GVWR, must stop at open scales. All vehicles over 10,000 can be stopped by a DOT cop on the road. -
Are you a semi truck or a pickup truck?snowman_w900 Thanks this.

I’m in a vehicle. It doesn’t differentiate the two.
“All vehicles or vehicle combinations with gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 26,000 lbs. or more must stop at all weigh stations.”
You guys can “lol” all you want. The text right there doesn’t say anything about gross vehicle weight rating, or state all commercial vehicles. -
Interesting. I dug through and found this in one in the Montana motor vehicle laws pertaining to commercial vehicles and such. Doesn't say anything about 26,000 lb GVW in this version from the State of Montana.
Grubby, cke, 4mer trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Them boys in Iuka don't have much of a sense of humor for sure.
Red Bay to Belmont Ms hwy 25 to Hwy 4 to 45 in Booneville will solve that issue. Just hearsay!! I wouldn't know.
