For what it is worth, there were a couple of versions of the 500hp.the earlier built around '94 had what was called a high pressure set up.The injectors flowed a little less volume so the cal. was a little stronger to make the hp. numbers. This situation was hard on cam lobes so around'95/'96 they changed the 500 to what was called a low pressure set u,they put in injectors that flowed more feul and backed off on the feuling. So if you had a high pressure ecm cal. with low pressure injectors,I'm thinking close to a 10% gain.I have had a 12.7 with an easy 630 to the wheels and it started out life as a 430.There were also a few turbo changes in the mid 90's I look to see if I still have any numbers for the bigger ones.

injector code on the DD's don't do crap, these do not work like they on the Cat's.Just make sure your feul pressure does not exceed 65 psi,no load at 1800 rpm.You can drill the restricor fitting in the back of the to .102 and in most cases you will be fine. You also should look at your air intake set up,on Frgtlnrs, for example they had too small of intake tubes from the T pipe to the turbo, the needs to be increased to no less than 6".You might also have someone set your droop to 0 and if you want a little more response when leaving from a stop have your low idle set to 700 rpm.To make all is well with your engine you really need to have a mech. feul pressure ga.,pyrometer and turbo ga.You should also strongly consider using a system such as a FASS to take the air out of the feul going to the engine and a cooler wouldn't hurt either. All important details!

any gains in tweaking your valve lash or will factory spec. work fine?
-
would love to hear how you have yours setup. i cannot pm you because i don't have enough posts?
-
Use the factory settings, they will work just fine, too tight is definetly not good and too loose can damage the cam followers.

12 liter engines, Mack, Detroit, C-12's, or whatever others will not make enough reliable H.P or torque to run with the 15 16 or 18 liter crowd no matter WHAT you do with them.
998 cu. in. Mack E-9 forever!!!!!!!
