General Barebones OTR average is 65k a year. That's 11500-13000 miles a month 11 months of the year, if you include resets and time off at home/terminals. No overtime, no hourly unless it's detention and that only starts after 2 hours normally.EddieK Thanks this. -

Friend of mine doing the local auto parts gig is now on track for 80k next year. The pay is up to .49 USA miles and .47 Canada miles. He works anywhere 8-12 hours a shift, if converted to an hourly all in rate it comes out to about $25. Also gets hourly while waiting for miscellaneous things, and event pay, cross border etc.
I think the standard over the road will be pushed into the 90-100 a year soon. I don't see how it can't be. If (when) the economy slows, it will all work in reverse. Save it while you can.HighwaySuperTramp Thanks this. -
Companies will pay more and work their guys less. That's why you see TransX and Bison doing switches every 4 hours. You guys who get hourly/local are lucky. I'm still classified as OTR and we are getting screwed with big time. -
I could never do that big company crap. I won't ever drive for someone else again. Do it my way. Sometimes I do lots of miles, other times not so much. Probably 120,000 a year. I will have the numbers at year end. Too lazy to do any of that now. I slack off a lot when I decide to go home. Been home since the 18th and don't want to find any new work. My regular stuff will ramp up and I'll work like crazy all winter. Wouldn't have it any other way. Kinda be nice if I had someone who likes to work the same as I do. So they can focus more on the long stuff and I can focus more on the short stuff.
TheStopSignGuy, HighwaySuperTramp and BigHossVolvo Thank this. -

I think I do 84K km annually, unless I take some "sick leave" Only took a month this year. I am saving my energy for something, I forget what.
So there is still a reefer trailer on its side at Bylund pit road, a Light Speed trailer and Hudon trailer both totalled and being hauled west at Shabaqua. . The Hudon had been dragged into Sistonens lot. I wonder if this has to do with 800' of missing guardrail near Bylund Road pit. Must have been some big excitement over the weekend and more coming today as this road is slicker than snot on the steering wheelmagoo68, Phantom Trucker and HighwaySuperTramp Thank this.
