Truck driving is a job. It's an occupation. What should your pet have to do with that? And of this needs to be explained to you in detail, you will never understand the question that I asked

i used to take along my pet......

it was clean and neat, and didn't have to go out and "do it's business" all that often.

but then again,, one's toenail clippings, hardly need anything more than a pill bottle to walk them....

Pets are extremely important to many people, we all know that. To the OP, why are you so wound up over this? If you don't allow pets, fine....just move on and keep looking for "the perfect driver" for your company.

some people, that pet represents camaraderie or friendship from loneliness.

some people fear separation anxiety just as much as the pet does.

it IS your business to deny a pet policy, some companies (whether you knew it or not) get a pet deposit for damages / clean up after the driver leaves.

run your business your way, personally i had been assigned a truck or two over the years where the drivers had pets, and there was fur all over the place, and took me forever to clean up.....

now to me, THOSE companies should have had a pet deposit, most likely, they did not, otherwise, those trucks would have been cleaned.

That's like responding to a ups job post ,"this job would be perfect except for the no beard policy"

And that really happens!! People turn down $100k jobs because they don't want to shave so the pet thing doesn't surprise me at all since most people consider pets " family "

    1) Guess what? My dog dont want YOU in my truck either

    2) See my signature

    3) I'd rather deal with my dog than my boss

    4) If my dog aint welcome... I aint welcome

    5) There are things more important than money... one of them is a little piece of mind... another is being home with my family on a daily basis..... another is my dog

    6) Your $80,000 aint worth what I would have to put up with to get it. There are much better options even if it is much less money.

That’s discrimination. They can keep their 100k a year job and I’ll keep my beard.

Sometimes being clean shaven is a necessity, eg. being able to properly wear breathing equipment for certain oilfield jobs.
