Some new trucks got messed up. And the def tanks were installed on the right side. Depending on the setup. Some can't stretch the hose to that side. There's a heavy haul outfit in nevada with that problem. They're not happy. And KW wanted to charge to reposition the tank. Supposedly there's argument about it between the company and KW. I have no idea if anything come if it as I no longer leave home.

Then there's some companies with no room for the tank on the left.

I thought it was only some of the 2010 trucks that ended up with DEF tanks on the right side. It may have been that they did not know which side the DEF pump would be located, or like you’re saying, just a mistake on the part of the manufactorer.

The 2010 KW T660 I drove had that issue. Luckily I only had it for 2 months. I don’t remember how I dealt with that issue. I am guessing I needed to fuel separately for DEF and pull in on the wrong side of the pumps, or use the DEF pump from the right side if the hose could reach. Hahaha.

I didn't know anything about the tanks being on the right side. That was my first time seeing such a thing.
Those new KW's were 2016. I was trying to figure out why the driver was coming out with 2 boxes of def.

My suggestion was to buy some 2 inch hose to run from the tank to the pump and use the pump through the hose to the tank.

IIRC. The driver said KW wanted to charge $2,000 to reposition the tanks. And I think the company ordered something like 10 trucks.

I don't remember if it was an ordering F up or a plant build F up.

I don’t think the hose would work because the moment the pump stops, you will have excess DEF in the hose that will then spill. Maybe if the hose were installed permanently, it might work.

So it's cheaper to buy 2-1/2 gallons of DEF in the box for like $12?

I like the high quality fuel the mom and pop offers.

Fuel filter and fuel / water separator go bad, $100, that's if you can change them yourself and you have spares.

Fuel isn't winterized, additives another $40.

Ooooops injectors or fuel pump just took a dump cause no additives in the fuel. $8000

    Yep saved a bunch there.

One of the truck stops near Lafayette, LA had dirty fuel. My fuel filter got a little dark and with dark spots after fueling there. I wasn’t able to determine which truck stop it was, but I am very sure it was one of the three rundown truck stops I fueled at near Lafayette on I-10.

I think it’s cheaper to winterize fuel than to buy winterized fuel. I buy Howe’s antigel cheap at Walmart. It’s just a hassle to treat it.
