Their loss.
I'm also a bearded fellow (haven't shaved since I got married in 2016) and given enough money and a gravy run, I'd shave every day if necessary.
Pets ? Really?

Don’t take Snowwy’s criticism on your math too hard. He has his own special type of math.
Remember 2000 pounds more weight (he saw the scale ticket) will mean you can haul 4000 pounds less payload ( his words).
All I asked was how that worked and he can’t answer that question.Last edited: Dec 28, 2018
Blackshack46 Thanks this. -
Is it my fault you can't understand the answer?
-
It’s your fault that you can’t admit you made a mistake by saying 2000 pounds would mean 4000 pounds less payload. Go back and read your own post.
We all make mistakes and should admit them when we do.
If I see a mistake posted I will point it out so others won’t make the same mistake.
I see now you are unwilling to admit yours.
So be it. -
Yeah. Sorry about your luck. I didn't mistake.
Her empty scale ticket was 2,000 heavier. And dog related.
If you want to confine your thinking to DOGS ONLY. That's your thinking.

I did 2 years with my dog and it was about the most fun I've ever had, and having a friendly companion allowed me to stay out longer and work harder.
Drivers wanting a pet in the truck are not turning away $80k jobs they are skipping the endless gloom of always being a stranger and being treated worse than a stray dog if they can find another driving job that allows pets. You don't know if those drivers are giving up on jobs paying $80k to get a job paiyng $20k and being with their pet. They could simply be choosing an $80k job that allows their pet.
I've been OTR without a dog for almost 2 years again and if my pet was still alive, and if I didn't have a cellphone and internet options for keeping in touch and entertained this job wouldn't be worth it to me at twice the price.
This is one of the things that USED to be great about America. You got to make your own choices if you could deal with the consequences. Only maybe 10-25% of trucking companies allows pets. But looking around truck stops, I wouldn't hire about 75% of drivers. They are dirtier, worse-behaved, a darn sight less trainable than any dog you can find in an animal shelter. Everyone should choose for them self.
I never had any behavior issue with my dog on the road. She just layed on the bunk and stared at me or slept or she sat in the passenger seat at watched the world go by. She was an excellent truck alarm system and a bunk warmer when the truck broke in central KY during winter. 99.98% of customer I showed up to never ever had any idea there was a dog in my truck.
Some truck drivers have pets as misbehaved and as filthy as they are. Many drivers and pets are much better than that. Being dirty or misbehaved is not required of anyone in trucking, it's just a convenient excuse for some people that would be misfits anywhere.singlescrewshaker, spindrift, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this. -
