I’ve got a nail somewhere last night on supersingle. I was wondering if I could use those flat tire emergency kit as permanent solution or should I look for tire repair place?

You can use those tire kits... I've done it several times... do you have an air hose on the truck? I used it on my other truck... it held for over 6 months

    AlexanderK Thanks this.

Look for a tire place. Having a deflated super single will get you in trouble fast and waiting for road repair.

One time I ran over something in the dirt at a construction site. I could hear the air coming out and had a nail sized hole in a trailer tire, Out in the middle of nowhere. Another driver covered a screw with silicone then screwed it into the hole. Used my air hose re-inflate the tire and made it to the next shop without losing any air.

I’ve got tire inflation system on the trailer. I have air hose as well for the tires of the truck.
I’m just wondering if those DIY kit could be used as permanent solution, or I still have to go to tire place even I fix it. If I still have to go to tire place, I wouldnt bother with the kit.

Well for a permanent fix I would go to the tire place... if they can't fix it then at least you know what you gotta do..

The one time I seen price, it was $35 to pull the tire off the rim, place a patch on the inside and remount. For the price, the piece of mind is worth it to me.

I use tire plugs until I can get tire shop to patch properly. Use tire plugs only on my personal vehicles as permanent fix

Thanks for all your responses. With tire inflation system, I will get to the tire shop then, and won’t mess with the kit, since it can’t be used as permanent solution.

I use the emergency plug to get to tire shop. Then have the mushroom plug/patch put in.

I recommend not having air leaking from tires while driving.

    Good luck.
