I can still remember being 18 and hitchhiking back to the east coast from Ca.I got picked up by a trucker just outside of El Paso Tx.in a Ford Wmodel, which he called a cheap truck. As we were moving along, everytime we passed a truck stop he would point out all the trucks that had passed him at high speed, then sure enough each and every one would come flying past him again and be parked at the next truck stop.It kinda reminded me about the tortoise and hare story.Moral of the story, slow and steady wins the race.He was going to Hunts Point,NYC and he dropped me off less than a mile from where I was going.I learned a lot from that guy that I still use to this day and that was over 40yrs.ago.

If you back out of it for a minute you lose at most 5 to 10 seconds but over the course of the day it may add up to what 10 minutes?? Here’s the clincher though that 10 min daily could save you decades of life when the big crash happens and you safely stop because your no longer in the pack and at most get rear ended instead of crushed in the pile... I keep a safe space I can only control what’s in front or beside me but those I do control if possible

I run only Texas (99.99% of the time I-35 and east and usually no further south than Houston) and I'm never in a hurry so I run 60mph since I pay for my fuel. If you can't pass me in a timely manner; then the problem is you and not me. My cruise control feels no pressure from the idiots riding my trailer like it's their lover.

What’s the matter with you? Don’t you know you can go 10% further on a gallon of diesel at 73 mph than you can at 60 mph? I hear super truckers say this all the time so it must be true.

    MachoCyclone Thanks this.

The last paragraph here is all I need to pick the side of the truck being passed. All you guys trying to pass KNOWING you have a governed truck and its gonna take miles to get it done, in X1HEAVY's words "there is a problem somewhere in your work situation". I think he's being to nice, I think you're just a bunch of selfish, self-centered, scum bags who are creating dangerous situations on the highway. Also we all know when you finally do get you're pass completed you move over within the first 6" of the truck in front of you causing another dangerous situation.

Honestly the problem for me is not the butt-tard that takes forever to pass or even the super trucker that flies on past me...... it's the ignoramus, unprofessional, idiotic, self concerned, selfish, stupid, moronic driver that once is cleared of me comes back in front of me with 2.316 inches to spare, AND THEN SLOWS DOWN.
