Id like to get some of you guys/gals opinion on this..In 1994 i was in an accident not a big truck but a atv..I ended up with a head fracture..I do not and have not ever had a seizure.Never taken any type of anti-seizure medication.Iv had zero problems with the injury..What do you think the companies policy on hiring someone like me? Now i did drive a truck for 5 years in 2003-2008..I have had quiet a few dot physicals never had a problem with any of them other than i do take blood pressure medication, but i wasn't honest on my dot long form about the injury. This go around id like to be truthful but im worried about any company hiring me with that type of injury.

Never offer information. If you can pass your dot physical, you are good to go. Honesty does not get you anywhere in physicals.
-
Be truthful about the injury if, deep down, you don't really want to be a trucker.

Ive been hit on the head so much as a teen either in fights or something else. You would think after getting my bell rung (It takes alot...) I would be a problem. It never has come up anywhere. Went up against a lead pipe once. Got inside of it took a part of it fast enough to get to mad mad and throw him down, he cracked his skull against a fencing about waist high and that was the end of that one. (He lived, but his fighting days were over much more docile)
I don't talk about stuff that got hurt, bent or stressed in DOT examiners ever. I actually have a damaged sternum which you think would affect my work. But it held up very well until in the late 40's arthritis of a particular kind set into there first ending any chance of lumping.
You don't volunteer nothing. However if you ever have a hard contact with the Law, you must tell them you have had a TBI so you can allow them to modify the situation so you do not get anymore hurt then you were already. Which I seriously doubt will happen out there on the road. But anything is possible.
There are certain kinds of trucking such as flatbedding in which you really need to watch where you stick that head. Cranes and flying things can clock you pretty good in those mills. -
You know most of those out have had a few conks on the head since we are all still kids. As long as no strange stuff is going on I would see what they find without telling them.
