Got on with Hartwig Trans. Haulin mail for USPS.
They pay employees with paper trip sheets which are supposed to be turned in at their office location.
Curiously after 1 month I joined they moved to a different location and told me to continue putting my trip sheets in same mailbox. Now, 1 week later they have ductaped the mailbox shut and wont tell me the new location.
Also they offered me graveyard shift. I said ok. But later told em it was too dang tough on me.
R they trying to get me to quit??
What should I do??

You need the new office location for logbook purposes. If the old office is shut up and closed down in particular.
I would think right about now is the time to quietly look for other work. -
Also now I just saw they have secretly installed a brand new mailbox in a hidden corner.
And dispatch told me to just save my trip sheets like WTF dude???

Time to move on to a new company.
Hartwig website doesn't have any contact information except a recruiter which is the same number as on the online job application:
Hartwig Transit Inc.
11971 Reading Road
Cincinnati, OH 45241
727-857-4057
I'd go find another job and quit fooling with that outfit. -
Cassens Transport will train you to be a car hauler. No experience required; just a cdl school diploma. They've been running ads all over the country for new cdl grads.
Must have one year of truck driving experience with tractor-trailer equipment; or, be a graduate of an accredited truck driving school.

There's a lot of good mail contractors out there to work for...and there's also a lot of shady contractors out there too...like Beam Bros (which went out of business). All Mail Contractors (HCR - Highway Contract Routes) are under the Department Of Labors McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) and wage is determined by USPS.
McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) - Wage and Hour Division (WHD) - U.S. Department of Labor
I never really heard of Hartwig Transport before...more of the big name contractors like Eagle, MTI, Hoovestol, MCA/Pat Salmon, Postal Transport, etc. Most of the shady Mail Contractors I've heard about are from the smaller, lesser known outfits. But just like FedEx Ground, you'll have some contractors that are good and some that are bad out there.
IMO...I would start looking for another job. Keep copies of your trip sheets in case you don't get paid and report it to the US Department Of Labor.Chinatown Thanks this. -
