I thought so,I remember this well back then. This test caused a lot of buzz in the industry,with the very unpopular 55 mph when this was published. The govt. was positive,that every truck would fail. Your dad was like a hero to the independents back then,hence the song/poem. I don't know if you have any of the Overdrive mags,after that one,but it really caused a stir.
I love your dads philosophy, "I'd drive 25 mph if they paid me for it". My kind of guy.
Probably shared coffee with him back in the day,ran a lot of the same paths he did. Love this Cool old stuff.

For some reason I always thought it was near that fuel stop. It happened in '97 and we moved to Easton in '00 or '01. If I needed fuel I always hit the Sunoco in town so I could grab an always healthy fried bologna sammich!

 

It was on the right when you're headed east.. I believe near the church where the side road veers off. It's been a minute since I've been over there so I could be a little off.

 

I DO! Drove one a few times. 65 freightliner, 318 & 10 speed. Drive axle in the rear with a u shape in the forward axle.

 

Now why dont you quit messin round and show us the REAL Bloody Mary?
