I will be taking that route today, but in the other direction. Will be heading west on I-10 through Louisiana with a delivery in San Antonio tomorrow.

Sadly, I will be traveling that route before noon, and will not have the opportunity to get my brother to buy me some local grub when I pass through his town later on this morning because all of the places to buy that stuff won't be open yet.

Well, in theory, we are all Driving for the Same Company... just now with three different options as to how one may choose to operate their Truck.

As a Company Driver, Lease Operator, or Owner Operator... and as I mention above, I’m not sure just how the O/O Program that I heard from one of the participants differs all that much from a standard Lease Truck Program.

But Abilene may have a variety of Programs setup up with individuals and just calls it their O/O Program... who knows.

Yup... guaranteed expenses and huge potential liabilities with no guarantee of income and no ability to take your truck elsewhere if needed... way too much “influence” from the Powers That Be.

Only two options that I would seriously consider is Company Driver or True O/O... if anything Goes South, one can more or less Walk Away.... too many strings with a L/O and all being pulled but someone other than the Driver.

But, who knows, maybe Abilene is different.

Umm, no. It’s still a fleece program. You know the saying about putting lipstick on a pig, right?

Your opinion is spot on... if one is either a L/O or O/O, one is “Owning a Business” ... and it must be ran like a Business... there’s a bit more to it than having a Lemonade Stand in your Front Youd in the Summer... your mommy isn’t going to come by after work and buy up all your overstocked inventory... LOL

As a Company Driver, I just consider the Office as my Business Partners, I delegate all the crap I don’t want to do (taxes, sales, billing, dispatching, safety, etc) so that I can then kick back and Drive... LOL

Well, after a nice long drive through the night from South Florida to Braselton, GA, with just a couple hour nap yesterday, I’ll finish my day with the following:

    - damnnn Swift Drivers

    - this Pilot leaves a bit to be desired

    - Good Night JohnBoy (Walton’s Reference)

    dwells40 and JohnBoy Thank this.

I would sooner spend the night on the Haverty's lot than at the Braselton Pilot.

Anybody know if our driver that was in the accident last night on I-81 around mm 80 or 130 (not sure which) is okay? I saw dash cam footage, but couldn’t see truck number. Don’t know how to pull the video from messenger to here. Looks like they went for a wild ride while trying to avoid an accident occurring in front of them.

    Voyager1968 Thanks this.
