Man...I want to team drive, that’s what I really want but my friend is too much on the fence about it so that means I’m going to have to find some stranger I don’t even know.

Extra pay you get for such activities as tarping a load, waiting to be loaded or unloaded (detention pay), layover pay, 34 hr. reset pay, and a myriad of other pays, depending on company policy.

    Lepton1 and Dan.S Thank this.

You don’t want to team drive. It’s miserable especially with a stranger. And your buddy won’t be your buddy for long.

I’ll take all of them they throw at me. I’ve pretty much topped out on pay. 1800 is good money, and little work ;)

I would too, but it’s my truck my authority. Short loads are gravy

Does your friend have a cdl?

I see. So, when does the money really come in this business? I’ll be at 46 cents a mile flat bedding and then raises are every 90 days at 1 cent a mile, that’s 4 cents a mile yearly increase. How would I be able to drive more miles?

    Cool!!!

I have some practice tips for you. Before you join a team.

Set your alarm to go off every 2 hours when you’re parked for the day and trying to sleep. After about a week. Park on the fuel island until the guy behind you comes up and starts raising hell with you.

Those 2 things will prepare you for teaming with a stranger. Or a friend.

It always sounds good in the beginning. Then the real world kicks in. If Swift was the cats meow everyone would be working for them.
