Had 2 DUIs' over 25 years ago. Will they prevent me from getting into a school????
Other than that, a very good driving record.
Alot of schools, i noticed, require no DUIs in 7 years, major trafic tickets in 7 years, etc etc.

Thats not to bad I had 3 DUI's within the last 15yrs one was combined to plea to a lesser charge provided I did every thing the parole board required me to do. I lost my license for 2 full yrs absolutly no driving at all. I was a mechanic at the time but in the last 6 yrs I started driving truck my license is spotless for the last 12 yrs nothing on it. I managed to aquire a hazmate license with all the normal back ground checks and fingerprinting.
If you are persistant you will find something out there but now is not a good time since so many are laid off and they have there pick of the crop so to speak.
I have had some companys insurance carriers reject my job applications because of the DUI's and they wont let you in Canada period with DUI's on your license.
How ever I did manage to find work with a YRC company whom were looking for drivers a few yrs ago I am currently on the board as parttime or call in board since there are also 12 other men who are laid off ahead of me but I still work since they dont like working unless its quarranted 40 hr work week.
Sorry I never had to go to school since Ive had a commercial license since I was 18 yrs old being a truck mechanic .
When you 1st start driving you cant be very fussy with whom you get your 1st few yrs experince with.
    Hope that helps

when i went to school, my most recent dui was 15 years old (have had 3 total in my life) i always put them on my applications, and they haven't kept me from getting driving jobs. like rickoliss says though, "NO CANADA". and i also have my hazmat endorsement, haven't gone through the background check for that yet, have to do that this year, but i'm not anticipating any problems with it.

Most ask if you had any DUI's in the last 5 years or 10 years. Since yours are 25 years ago, should be no problem.

Why would you want to go to Canada...The rates cant be that good. And if you go to some parts you have to have a "speed limiter" on your truck now

You wont have a problem geting into a trucking school. I dont know what companys you want to drive for but i know that werner will not take anybody that has had a DUI. Its ok you dont want to drive for them anyways. Good luck to you

No you cannot unless you file special paperwork and pay them over a grand. Many misdemeanors will also keep you out of Canada.
